Whistleblowing: Which reporting channels are suitable for your organisation?
Internal whistleblowing, also known as ‘speak up’, is an effective corporate compliance tool and is actively promoted within organisations. It involves the reporting of suspected misconduct to independent, internal bodies such as the compliance department. In contrast to external whistleblowing, internal whistleblowing does not involve the disclosure of confidential information about possible misconduct to the public. It is key to preventing reputational damage and identifying risks at an early stage.
